Cinema Stitch Club is a Dallas-based needlepoint event that brings stitchers together for a night of creativity and connection.
Guests gather in a private theater to enjoy a movie with the lights up just enough to stitch, sip, and socialize. Each event features local vendors, themed giveaways, and thoughtful touches that make the night feel truly special.
What started as a one-night idea has quickly grown into a vibrant community of stitchers who love spending time together. Our first event in July 2025 welcomed 105 guests and sold out in just 48 hours, and our second event in September sold out in under 12 hours with 165 stitchers filling the theater.
Meet Lila, The Founder
I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and went to college at the University of Oklahoma — Boomer Sooner! I’ve always loved finding ways to create community around the things I love, and stitching quickly became one of those things. I started needlepointing right before graduating college to help with the anxiety of all the changes in my life, and what began as a simple way to relax and get off my phone quickly turned into my favorite hobby.
After graduating from college and moving back home to Dallas, I dreamed up the idea for Cinema Stitch Club over the summer and the event planner in me got to work. We held our first event in August 2025, and what was supposed to be a one-time thing quickly became a regular event. It has been such a joy watching everyone come together, meeting new friends, reconnecting with old ones, enjoying time stitching, and watching a movie. Nothing makes me happier than walking into a theater full of stitchers all sharing the same experience together.
